Compulsory student insurance in the Czech Republic
Why do foreign citizens need insurance in the Czech Republic?
- Every foreign citizen entering the Czech Republic on the basis of a long-term visa must have comprehensive health insurance in accordance with Act No. 326/1999 Coll. “On the Residence of Foreigners in the CR.”
- Foreigners’ health insurance covers expenses related to preventive medical care, treatment, hospitalization, and acute cases, including accidents.
- The presence of comprehensive insurance is a prerequisite for obtaining a long-term visa to the Czech Republic.
